Energy, solar energy, energy storage and electrochemistry

  • Energy is the most important expertise of LaNoMat which include teaching and research activities both fundamental, applied and systems design aspects and involve industrial partners. Prof. Savadogo offers at the academic level these four courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels at École Polytechnique de Montréal: i) ENE8210:-Efficacité des sources d’énergie; ii) ENE 8210-Stockage de l’énergie; iii) MET820A-Énergie solaire photovoltaique et applications; iv)MET8106-Énergie électrochimique.
  • Moreover, the expertise of the LaNoMat team on energy is based on 20 years work experience on hydrogen production and utilisation; solar cells development based on new approaches and new materials. Likewise, Prof. Savadogo and his team brought practical solutions to energy cases from various industrial systems, through careful analysis, studies and systems design for off-grid or on-grid
  • LaNoMat expertise is also on the preparation of nano materials using sol-gel, thermal or thermo-chemical methods and using characterization instruments like, current –voltage curves, , Impedance spectroscopy Analyzers; quartz micro balance, thermal analysis, fuel cell stack, solar simulator, resistivity measurements, scanning and transmission microscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, Kelvin probe, optic profolimeter, etc.).
  • We have also facilities for corrosion evaluation.
LaNoMat made it possible for many students to develop firsthand experience trough industrial partnership.
